Youth 180 is an organization that seeks to provide an alternative to youth culture's views on relationships and sexual intimacy.
The Youth 180 Team
• Discusses the power of decision-making.
• Highlights the effects of misleading media.
• Communicates that sex is a good thing in life, but also very powerful. . . . “Sex is like a fire . . . beautiful and safe in the ‘fireplace' of marriage, but destructive when out of bounds.”
• Looks at some of the physical consequences of sex outside of marriage.
• Presents the powerful, emotional consequences of pre-marital sex, as well as its effect on current and future relationships.
• Focuses on the incredible worth of the individual, and challenges teens to see themselves as a gift worth waiting for.
Builds a strong case for setting high goals and attaining them through remaining focused and delaying sexual gratification.
Suggests practical tips on staying abstinent in this culture, and gives hope and encouragement for those who may need a fresh start |

Erik Dressel is a convincing speaker on the value of saving sex until marriage. He has spoken over 900 times on this and other subjects to young people throughout Maryland. His presentation is based upon what he refers to as “relationship common sense,” although it may not be so common anymore. Instead of focusing primarily on physical consequences of pre-marital sexual activity, Erik looks at the short term and long term emotional and relational consequences. Erik is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he was also a member of a championship lacrosse team. He has been involved with youth work and coaching for over 15 years.
